Makassar - Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar Airport welcome a visit from members of the House Commission V (17/7). The group which was led by the House Commission V Chief, Laurens Bahang Dama, was welcomed by Operation Director of Angkasa Pura Airports, Yushan Sayuti and General Manager of Sultan Hasanuddin Airport, Rachman Syafrie and their team.
This event was also attended by representatives of BASARNAS, BMKG, LPPNPI and Airport Authority as the regulator office. Laurens said that the purpose of their visit to Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar Airport was to check the preparations made in the airport for the upcoming mudik (hometown travel) season of Lebaran 2014. "We need to see whether Sultan Hasanuddin Airport is ready to face mudik season of this year’s Lebaran," he explained.
Yushan Sayuti explained several things that have been done by Sultan Hasanuddin Airport facing the mudik season of Lebaran 2014. "We have organized the Integrated Post for Mudik Flow of Lebaran 2014 with join-task personnel from several parties, such as KKP, Police Department, The Army, BASARNAS, and Airport Authority. We hope that the post can serve mudik travelers who need information or who would like to report a complaint on the airport’s operational services," Yushan said. In addition, all supporting facilities at the airport are now ready to be fully operated.
In year 2013, the number of mudik travelers who use Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar Airport was 441.4 million passengers and is being predicted to increase around 3% this year. As a hub-airport, Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar Airport is the busiest airport in Eastern Indonesia. Therefore, Laurens and members of the House Commission V expected that each involving parties were committed to serve mudik flow of Lebaran 2014 to run smoothly and with minimum number of incidents.
