Antisipasi Arus Mudik, 5 Maskapai Tambah Jadwal Penerbangan di Bandara Juanda

SURABAYA – Five airlines in Juanda Airport will add some of their flight schedule for the mudik (homecoming travel) season of Lebaran 2014. Public relation staff of Angkasa Pura Airports Juanda Branch, Surya Eka clarified those five airways to be Cathay Pacific (Hongkong), Eva Air (Taipe), Air Asia (Jakarta), Lion Air (Batam, Banjarmasin, Balikpapan, Palangkaraya, dan Jakarta), and Citilink (Banjarmasin).

“This additional flight schedule will be operated starting 19 July to 5 August,” he said on Tuesday (8/7/2014). Surya predicted the peak of the homecoming travel in Juanda Airport would be on D-3 and or D-2. A possibility of 847,000 passengers will travel through Juanda. “That number is our prediction which is a five percent increase compared to last year,” he added.

Meanwhile for peak of the backflow, Surya predicted it will happen on D+5 and or D+6. To maintain the passengers’ security and comfort, Juanda Branch will establish a Monitoring Post (PM) in Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. “The post will involve Angkasa Pura Airports, TNI, Airport Police Precinct, and Gound Handling CIQ.
