Angkasa Pura Airports, Telkom Announce 53 Participants of 2019 Islamic Nexgen Festival

BALIKPAPAN – Angkasa Pura Airports and state-owned telecommunications company PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia announced 53 participants who passed the Islamic Nexgen Fest audition in Balikpapan at the Grand Senyiur Hotel on Saturday (25/5). 

Islamic Nexgen Festival is a talent search event for Islamic young generation in six major cities in Indonesia, initiated by the Ministry of SOE as part of a series of activities to celebrate the Anniversary of the Ministry on April 13, 2019.

As many as 17 participants passed the Islamic Nexgen Fest audition in the Hijabnesia category, 29 participants passed the Sound of Deen category, and 7 participants passed the Santripreneur category.

Hijabnesia is a category of search for talents of women who wear hijab and have extensive knowledge, beauty, and talent and are expected to be a positive influencer for Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the Sound of Deen is a category of talent search of quality Islamic music be it solo, group, nasyid, qasidah, hadroh, gambus, and others. The Santripreneur is a category to search for talents of young santri (Islamic boarding school students) who are independent, creative, and have entrepreneurial skill.

For information, Angkasa Pura Airports and Telkom are persons in charge (PIC) for the Nexgen Fest Islamic auditions in Balikpapan.

The audition process of the Islamic Nexgen Festival in the Balikpapan region was conducted on Saturday (5/25) from 08.00 am to 1 pm participated by 130 participants for the three categories of the competition. The judges involved in this audition were Eno Lerian for the jury of the Hijabnesia category, Virgoun for the Sound of Deen category, and Haykal Kamil for Santripreneur category.

"Angkasa Pura Airports and Telkom fully support the Nexgen Fest Islamic activities as an effort to present an Islamic millennial generation who can be a role model for the generation of Islamic millennials in general throughout Indonesia. As a person in charge of auditions in Balikpapan, Angkasa Pura I and Telkom also hope that millennial Islamic generations from Balikpapan can contribute optimally to the Grand Final round," said Angkasa Pura Airports president director Faik Fahmi.

All audition participants come from six cities; Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Medan, Surabaya, and Balikpapan and will be quarantined on June 18 to June 20 before entering the Grand Final round which will be held on June 20, 2019 and broadcasted live by Indonesian television stations at 4 pm to 6 pm Western Indonesian Time.

In the Grand Final, there will be nine contestants for the Hijabnesia category, five contestants for the Sound of Deen category, and six contestants for the Santripreneur category. The contestants will compete for a total prize of Rp350 million (US$24,380) and six Umrah packages. Prize of each category is of Rp100 million and three Umrah packages for the Hijabnesia category, Rp150 million for the Sound of Deen category, and Rp100 million and three Umrah package for the Santripreneur category.
