However, with the total passengers at Juanda Airport in 2013 has reached 16 million passengers and predicted in 2015 would be 20 million; it is very difficult for the existing airport infrastructure to accommodate that much capacity. So it requires the construction of a new terminal at the airport," said Tommy Soetomo in his presentation. 

Although the airline industry the country is currently experiencing a difficult time, especially with the decline in domestic demand, Angkasa Pura Airports remain optimistic about the development of Juanda Airport. A similar sentiment was also expressed by the Governor of East Java, "we do not need to hesitate regarding the number of passengers, the development prospects of Juanda Airport is nice, and the development plan will be conducted by Angkasa Pura Airports we will fully support because there is no other way to boost regional economic growth in addition to building the air traffic infrastructure ". 

Construction of the terminal 3 and the additional runway is scheduled to commence in 2015 it will be carrying the airport city concept. Of course, between each terminal will be connected to one another to facilitate passengers and improve the level of service the airport. The development of the airport is expected to cost about 8 trillion is expected to be the engine driving the economy in Indonesia, especially in East Java Province.
