JAKARTA - After being closed for almost one month, on 9 April 2015, cargo access from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 Juanda Airport in Surabaya reopened by the Navy. Unfettered access is very important for freight mobility at Juanda airport; it is the result of a meeting on Thursday (9/4) between PT. Angkasa Pura I (Persero) with the Navy. The meeting, which was held at the VIP Juanda Airport in Surabaya, was also attended by the Governor of East Java and Minister for Empowerment of State Apparaturs and Bureaucratic Reform Yuddy Chrisnandi as envoy of President Joko Widodo. Acting as a representative of PT. Angkasa Pura I (Persero), Yushan Sayuti as Operations Director while Puspenerbal Commander was unable to attend and be represented.

When opening the meeting, the East Java Governor Soekarwo said that he has written to the President to intervene in the conflict in Juanda Airport regarding closure cargo access from terminal 1 to terminal 2. The entrepreneurs in the field of trade came to me, protesting the closure of this cargo access, said Pakde Karwo, Soekarwo’s familiar greeting. According to the Governor, as a result of the closure of the cargo access, the volume of export of various kinds of commodities and East Java superior products decreased due to constrained delivery.
In his speech, Minister Yuddy Chrisnandi stated that the President ordered that the internal problem such as Juanda Airport cargo does not happen again. Internal problems related to this cooperation should be resolved in an atmosphere of a coordinated system of government through the process of deliberation. Thus, the public service is not disrupted. Besides the opening of the cargo access, Yuddy also mentioned on the Cooperation Agreement which has been committed between Puspenerbal with Angkasa Pura is still jammed. Yuddy asked the East Java governor as an arm of the central government, to help bridge the resolution. "Since this is only a problem of coordination, so I hope to be resolved," he said. Both the PT.
