Thirteen Ap Airports Receives Occupational Safety And Health Management System Certificate

JAKARTA - A total of 13 airports managed by Angkasa Pura Airports received the Golden Flag of Occupational Safety and Health Management System Certificate (SMK3) from the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia. The certificate with Satisfactory level was received by Angkasa Pura I based on the results of the SMK3 external audit for the Advanced Category with 166 criteria in accordance with Government Regulation No. 50 of 2012.

The handover of the SMK3 Gold Flag Certificate was given at the Airport Safety Week 2020 event which was the culmination of K2 month implementation in Angkasa Pura Airports.

The 13 airports that won the SMK3 Gold Flag are: I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali, Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan International Airport in Balikpapan, General Ahmad Yani International Airport in Semarang, Adi Soemarmo International Airport in Surakarta, Juanda International Airport in Surabaya, Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Makassar, Adisutjipto International Airport in Yogyakarta, Syamsudin Noor International Airport in Banjarmasin, Sam Ratulangi International Airport in Manado, Lombok International Airport in Praya, Pattimura International Airport in Ambon, El Tari International Airport in Kupang, and Frans Kaisiepo International Airport in Biak.

"To receive SMK3 Gold Flag is an acknowledgment and appreciation of the company's commitment to comply with Law No.1 of 1970 on Work Safety. This is also in line with Angkasa Pura Airports business process which always prioritizes the principles of Safety, Security, Services, and Compliance (3S+1C)," said Angkasa Pura Airports president director Faik Fahmi.

SMK3 itself is a K3 Management System set by the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower in an effort to create an occupational safety and health system by involving management, labor, working conditions and environment in order to prevent and minimize accidents as well as occupational illness to create a safe, efficient and productive workplace.

"This achievement is a trigger for us to continue implementing SMK3 consistently and create a secure, safe, healthy and comfortable work environment not only for all employees but also for work partners and all passengers at the airports that we manage," Faik added.

The Golden Flag Award for SMK3 completes the long list of awards related to K3 that have been received by Angkasa Pura Airports. In 2017 and 2018, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport was awarded an HIV and AIDS Prevention and Management Program award. Furthermore, in 2019, four airports managed by Angkasa Pura Airports received Zero Accident awards from the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower. The airports were Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan International Airport, and Sam Ratulangi International Airport.
