JAKARTA - In a bid to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus, Chinese government picked up Chinese tourists in Bali on Saturday using a charter plane.

Therefore, Angkasa Pura Airports provided special facilities such as check-in counters, rooms and parking stands for the aircraft used to repatriate Chinese tourists aiming to minimizing contact with other passengers.

"Angkasa Pura I fully supports the repatriation of Chinese tourists who are still in Bali. At I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali, we provide special facilities such as special check-in counters on Island D and the tourists are directed to the departure gate 1B and C. Isolated parking stands are provided in the western apron," said Angkasa Pura Airports president director Faik Fahmi.

In addition, a dedicated area will be provided at the terminal when departing Chinese tourists to the mainland China to avoid contact with other passengers. A room designated for Chinese tourists to check their body temperature and other health conditions is also provided.

On Saturday, February 8, 2020, it was informed that the Chinese Consulate General is going to repatriate Chinese tourists. The China Eastern chartered plane landed in Bali at 12.20 p.m. local time and departed again at 02.11 p.m. local time with a total of 61 passengers of 49 adults and 16 children.

Before boarding the plane, the body temperature of the Chinese tourists will be checked by the personnel of the Port Health Office (KKP) I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport. KKP does not allow passengers to leave if their body temperature is above 38 degrees Celsius.

KKP also informed that crew and doctors on the chartered aircraft are not allowed to disembark. KKP continued to disinfect the aircraft for 20 minutes to the crew and the medical team, including baggage handler and baggage in the aircraft. However, if the medical SOP from the Chinese Government requires examination of the passenger as was done in Thailand, Japan and Malaysia, it would be carried out in the apron.
