The peak of the backflow occurred on D+5 Lebaran, the number of passengers served at 15 Angkasa Pura Airports airports grew 70% compared to last year.

Jakarta, May 10, 2022 - Angkasa Pura Airports recorded that it had served 194,519 aircraft passengers at 15 airports under its management at the peak of the Eid return on Sunday, May 8, 2022 or D+5 Lebaran. When compared with records in 2021, where the number of passengers served was 114,388 passengers, then there was a 70% growth in the number of passengers at the peak of the Eid holiday in 2022.

The same thing also happened to the number of aircraft movements, where at the peak of the return flow for the 2022 Eid holiday, there were 1,413 aircraft movements served at 15 airports managed by Angkasa Pura Airports. There was a growth of 25.9% when compared to records in 2015. 2021, where there are 1,122 aircraft movements served.

"According to our predictions, the peak of Lebaran holiday backflow occurred on May 8, or D+5 Lebaran. Aircraft and passenger traffic at our 15 airports is quite dense, reaching 1,413 aircraft movements and 194,519 passengers. the peak of the return flow, airport operations run smoothly, comfortably, and conducive. This can only be achieved thanks to the coordination of all stakeholder agencies in our 15 airports, all personnel who are alert and capable in serving passengers, as well as the flow of passenger and aircraft handling that is running properly and optimally," said the President Director of Angkasa Pura Airports, Faik Fahmi.

"To ensure smooth operations, we have also adjusted operating hours at several airports with additional operating hours such as at Juanda Airport, SAMS Sepinggan Airport, Yogyakarta International Airport, Ahmad Yani Airport, and Syamsudin Noor Airport. Even our two airports, namely Sultan Airport Hasanuddin and I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport are fully operational for 24 hours to anticipate a surge in backflow traffic. From the data, it is known that these airports handled the highest traffic at the peak of the backflow yesterday," he continued.

Quoted from the data, Juanda Airport in Surabaya was recorded to serve the highest number of passengers at the peak of the return flow on May 8, reaching 45,414 passengers, followed by I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali with 39,173 passengers, and Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar with 37,063 passengers.

With a total of 278 aircraft movements served on May 8, 2022, Juanda Airport Surabaya is the busiest airport among 15 airports managed by Angkasa Pura Airports at the peak of the return flow, followed by I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Bali and Sultan Hasanuddin Airport Makassar, each with 270 and 257 aircraft movements served.

"We can also convey that the number of passengers served at the peak of the return flow is higher than the number of passengers at the peak of the homecoming flow on D-3 Lebaran or on April 29. Juanda Airport in Surabaya and I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali serve the highest number of extra flights, which are 27 and 23 flights, respectively.

Meanwhile, for the level of on time performance (OTP), the average OTP at 15 airports managed by Angkasa Pura Airports at the peak of the Eid return flow reached 67.72%, or exceeded the daily OTP average for the implementation of the Eid air transport post in 2022 which reached 67.5%.
