Passenger Growth on D-7 to D+2 Lebaran Increases by 1,955.25 percent

Jakarta, May 5, 2022 - Angkasa Pura Airports has served 1,590,139 passengers on D-7 to D+2 Eid or to be precise from April 25 to May 5, 2022 so that it experienced a growth of 1,955 percent when compared to the same period in the previous year. serving 66,042 passengers at 15 airports managed by Angkasa Pura Airports.

In flight traffic, Angkasa Pura Airports has served 14,351 aircraft movements and an increase of 650 percent when compared to the same period in the previous year which served 2,331 aircraft movements. Likewise, cargo movement increased by 62 percent by serving 11,023,034 kg of cargo which in the same period in the previous year served 8,063,691 kg of cargo.

"On average, passenger movements during the H-7 to D+2 period of Eid at the 15 airports we manage reached 145,000 passengers per day or only reached 63 percent when compared to normal times before the Covid-19 pandemic, which served an average of 229 passengers per day. thousand passengers per day and reached 2,408 percent when compared to the same period in the previous year which served an average of 6 thousand passengers per day. Meanwhile, the average aircraft movement reached 1,305 movements per day or only reached 67 percent when compared to normal times before the Covid-19 pandemic, which served an average of 1,947 aircraft movements per day and reached 616 percent when compared to the same period in the previous year. serving an average of 212 aircraft movements per day," explained the President Director of Angkasa Pura Airports, Faik Fahmi.

This is different from the average cargo movement which reaches 1 million kg per day so that the growth reaches 133 percent when compared to normal times before the Covid-19 pandemic which served an average of 755,000 kg per day and reached 137 percent when compared to the previous period. the same as in the previous year which served an average of 733 thousand kg per day.

During this period, Angkasa Pura Airports was recorded to have received as many as 863 extra flights from various national airlines with flight realization reaching 70 percent or 601 extra flights. This proves that the demand and interest in traveling for passengers to go home for Eid in 2022 using air transportation is quite high, so the airline has decided to add flight slots that did not exist before. In addition, there are 2 Angkasa Pura Airports airports with operating hours reaching 24 hours during this Eid homecoming period, namely Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar and I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali.
