Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) targets YogyakartaKulon Progo Airport construction was completed in 2020. As a mega project, the airport will eventually include access to the motorway and the airport train. "This is also in addition to existing state road access, there is also a toll road and rail access," said Corporate Secretary of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) Farid Indra Nugraha in Jakarta, Thursday (15/10/2015).

PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) also have spoken with the Indonesia Train Company (KAI) relatedto rail transport access planto the Kulon Progo Airport. As for the state, the company has also set up the land so that it can connect to the airport. The plan, the road will be made underpass so as not consuming the airport parking lot.

About toll road access,is still being finalized by the Ministry of Public Works Highways and Public Housing (PUPR). Kulon Progo service is planned to be a substitute Adi Sutjipto International Airport, which has been experiencing overcapacity.

The construction of this airport will spend about 7 trillion IDR. The capacity of the airport is designed to accommodate 50 million passengers every year. The airport is planned to have an area of 110,000 square meters and will be built in several stages. [DSS / Source: Tribun]
