JAKARTA - Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman (SAMS) Sepinggan International Airport was named as the Best Airport in Indonesia in 2016 in the event Airports Awards held by the Airport Magazine and supported by the Ministry of Transportation and Ministry of Tourism. Trophy award was given by Budi Karya Sumadi the Minister of Transportation and received directly by Pujiono the General Manager of Sepinggan SAMS Airports, accompanied by Director of Angkasa Pura Airports Danang S. Baskoro at BorobudurHotel, Jakarta, Tuesday (29/11).

Airport Awards is an event of awards to airports throughout Indonesia. In its first implementation in 2009, the Airport Awards successfully conducted survey of 26 airports and this year the airport in the survey reached 83 airports. Airports surveyed include airports under management of Angkasa Pura I as many 13 airports, Angkasa Pura II as many 13 airports and the Ministry of Transportation that AirportUnit Operator (UPBU) for Class Ias many 13 airports, Class II as many 19 airports and Class III as 25 airports.
2016Airports AwardsSurvey is the Airport User Satisfaction Survey covering airport facilities and services at the airport. The method used in the research is a survey through face to face interviews and questionnaires involving more than 1,800 respondents. The survey began in July to October 2016. The results of the survey prepared by an independent team and then brought to the jury meeting.
