Support The Development Of Tourism In Central Java, Angkasa Pura Airports Held Focus Group Discussion Of Tourism In Semarang

To support tourism in Central Java, Angkasa Pura Airports branch office Ahmad Yani Airport in Semarang organized activities Collaborative Destination Development (CDD), located at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Semarang, Wednesday morning (12/7).

Themed event “Religious, Nature, and Heritage Tourism Destination at Central Java” was packed in the form of Focus Group Discussion (FGD). This activity presented the panelists include Hevearita Gunaryanti the Vice Mayor of Semarang,Prasetyo Aribowo Head of Central Java Culture and Tourism, and Widianto Wiratmoko VP Network Planning and Regulatory Affair PT Citilink Indonesia. The keynote speaker was Director of Comercial and Business Development of Angkasa Pura Airports Moch Asrori.

Based on the data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the number of tourist arrived in Central Java Province from 2011 to 2015 increased by an average of 11%. This was because Central Java has a diverse and attractive tourism potential, such as religious tourism, natural tourism, cultural heritage, culinary tourism and so forth. For that reason, this CDD activity had a theme of “Religious, Nature, and Heritage Tourism Destination at Central Java,” explained Asrori.

This CDD activity, continued Asrori, intended to raise awareness of the importance of tourism and business potential in supporting economic development and growth of Central Java Province. “CDD aims to stimulate the acceleration of infrastructure, increase new investment in the field of travel and tourism in the region, especially Semarang and Central Java in general. The discussion hopefully could be a momentum for collaboration among all stakeholders in tourism in here,”said Asrori.

Department of Culture and Tourism in Central Java in the year of 2017 targeting that tourists which will visit the archipelago to Central java amounted 34,1 million people and for the foreign tourists amounted 435.000. The year 2018, the number of archipelago tourists visiting will be targeting around 34, 8 million and foreign tourist around 435,000 people.” We as the administrator of Airport support the plan and the target of Central Java Province in order to invite tourists to this Province. Angkasa Pura Airports always give special attention to the regional development, promote synergies by 2016, the number of passengers passing through this airport has reached 3.5 million people. This is meant that Ahmad Yani Airport has experience lack of capacity. For that reason recently, Angkasa Pura Airports was carrying out the development and expansion of the Ahmad Yani airport terminal to increase the capacity and quality of service for the satisfaction and comfort of airport services users. It was also to support efforts to bring tourists to stop by and pay visit to Central Java,” said General Manager of Ahmad Yani Airport Semarang, Priyo Jatmiko.
