Samarinda, May 24, 2018 - Angkasa Pura Airports signed a memorandum of understanding with the East Kalimantan Provincial Government related to the cooperation plan and management review of Aji Pangeran Tumenggung (APT) Pranoto Samarinda Airport on Thursday (24/5) in Samarinda.

The signing ceremony was done by the Managing Director of Angkasa Pura Airports Faik Fahmi and East Kalimantan Governor Awang Faroek Ishak, coinciding at the soft opening of APT Pranoto Airport.

This memorandum of understanding is the initial basis for the APT Pranoto Airport management cooperation plan, which is often called the New Samarinda Airport (Bandara Samarinda Baru - BSB) and aims to develop a review of APT Pranoto Airport management plan that is mutually beneficial, efficient, and sustainable.

"The airport management plan is one of our synergies with local government in order to improve the regional economy," said Director of Angkasa Pura Airports Faik Fahmi.

As an initial step of the collaboration, Angkasa Pura Airports will explore the cooperation opportunity of APT Pranoto Airport management by doing some things such as making plans and working methods; procurement of consultant services and other supporting professions; conducting technical, legal, and economic data collection and coordinate with authorized agencies.

"The results of this study will be used in the strategic planning of APT Pranoto Airport and be used as the basis for consideration for the cooperation agreement. We hope the synergy between state-owned enterprise and provincial government will bring more positive contribution for local economic growth," Faik Fahmi said.
