Health checks were also carried out on crew and travelers who detected with a fever or suspected illness related to Monkeypox.

To support these activities, thermal scanners or thermal detectors are installed to detect elevated body temperature of the air travelers. The thermal detectors are installed in front of the arrival gate, before the baggage claim area.

"As managers of the international airport which is the main gateway for tourists to enter Indonesia, we have identified the potential threat of the virus to enter the country, especially through the international airport managed by Angkasa Pura I. We want to ensure our commitment to prevent the Monkeypox virus from entering the airport by installing thermal scanner in several spots of arrival terminal," said Angkasa Pura Airports president director Faik Fahmi.

Angkasa Pura Airports will continue to work together with all stakeholders such as Ministry of Health’s KKP, airlines, and other related parties to prevent and monitor the spread of the virus.

If there are passengers suspected contracted Monkeypox virus, then the passenger will be handled separately by the KKP and rushed to the referral hospital using KKP ambulance.

"We urge every passenger who travels to and from Singapore be aware of any potential outbreaks. Don't forget to wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth, always wash your hands, and if you feel unwell, don't hesitate to report your condition to the flight crew on the plane or airport staff on arrival,” Faik added.
