Jakarta, 17 May 2022 - A total of 651,474 passengers and 5,247 aircraft movements were recorded to be served at 15 airports managed by Angkasa Pura Airports during the long Vesak Day holiday. The figures for the number of passengers and aircraft movements were recorded from Friday to Monday (13-16 May 2022), which also coincided with a weekend holiday.

During those four days, the average number of passengers and aircraft movements served reached 162,869 passengers and 1,312 aircraft movements, or higher than the daily average of passenger and aircraft movements during May 1 to 12 which were 157,051 passengers and 1,305 movements. aircraft.

"The peak of passenger arrivals during the long Vesak holiday at our airport occurred on Friday, with a total of 82,660 passengers and 681 aircraft movements. Meanwhile, the peak departure was on Monday, with 87,814 passengers and 669 aircraft movements served at 15 of our airports," said the President Director of Angkasa Pura Airports, Faik Fahmi.

"Compared to the daily average in May 2022, there is a growth of 0.5% for aircraft movements, and 4% for passenger movements," he added.

Juanda Airport Surabaya serves the highest amount of traffic among 15 airports managed by Angkasa Pura Airports with a total of 145,197 passengers and 950 aircraft movements during the long Vesak holiday. Makassar's Sultan Hasanuddin Airport served the second most traffic, with 138,626 passengers and 978 aircraft movements. Meanwhile, Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport is in third place, with 100,542 passengers and 743 aircraft movements served.
