Juanda Airport Surabaya Occupies the Highest Rank on the 2022 Eid Homecoming Route

Jakarta, May 16, 2022 – Based on the traffic data obtained, Angkasa Pura Airports noted that Juanda Airport Surabaya was ranked first with the highest number of flight statistics from 15 airports managed during the Lebaran 2022 holiday homecoming, where in the period from April 25 to May 1, there were as many as 78,228 passengers and 461 aircraft served. This proves that public interest in traveling to Surabaya by plane is quite high.

Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport ranks second by serving 57,724 passengers and 330 aircraft movements. Meanwhile, Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar ranks third with the record number of flight routes for the Lebaran holiday, serving 30,0006 passengers and 243 aircraft.

President Director of Angkasa Pura Airports, Faik Fahmi said, "As previously stated, during the Lebaran 2022 transportation period from April 25 to May 10, 2022, Angkasa Pura Airports recorded serving 2,485,107 passengers and 21,441 aircraft movements, resulting in increased traffic. passengers by 359% and aircraft by 200% when compared to the same period in the previous year. This proves that people's interest in traveling by airplane is quite high because it is considered that traveling by airplane is shorter, more efficient, and tends to be safe from the spread of Covid-19, "explained Faik Fahmi.

As for the return flow for the 2022 Eid holiday on May 4-10, 2022, the first highest flight route is the route from Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport and Makassar's Sultan Hasanuddin Airport to Soekarno-Hatta Airport with a total of 107,925 passengers and 635 aircraft movements served. The second highest flight route is from Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport and Makassar's Sultan Hasanuddin Airport to Juanda Airport, Surabaya, which serves 67,209 passengers and 393 aircraft. Meanwhile, Sultan Hasanuddin Airport Makassar ranks third in the number of flight routes for Lebaran 2022 by serving 40,370 passengers and 418 aircraft.

The highest realization of extra flights at 15 airports managed by Angkasa Pura Airports in the 2022 Eid transportation was occupied by Juanda Airport Surabaya with the realization of 239 extra flights, and followed by I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali with the realization of 204 extra flights, and Yogyakarta International Airport with the realization of 139 flights.
