In January 2022, Angkasa Pura Airports Serves 3.49 Million Passengers

Jakarta, February 8, 2022 – Angkasa Pura Airports was recorded serving 3.49 million passengers in January 2022, increased by 17 percent compared to total passengers in January 2021 of 2.11 million passengers at 15 managed airports.

Growth also occurred in aircraft movement traffic, the Company has served 36,534 aircraft movements, increased by 8 percent compared to total aircraft movements in January 2021 of 33,708 aircraft movements. Meanwhile, cargo traffic in the same period also increased by 4 percent to 39,344 tons from 37,771 tons in January 2021.

Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar had the highest traffic in January with 48,235 passengers, 6,434 aircraft movements, and 8,384,110 kg of cargo. Juanda Airport in Surabaya had the second-highest traffic with 715,861 passengers, 5,538 aircraft movements, and 5,805,223 kg of cargo. I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali had the third-highest traffic with 593,994 passengers, 4,841 aircraft movements and 2,151,703 kg of cargo.

“Average daily passenger traffic at the 15 managed airports in January reached 112,144 passengers/day, increased by 44 percent compared to average daily passenger traffic in 2021 of 77,574 passengers/day,” Angkasa Pura Airports President Director Faik Fahmi said.

Meanwhile, the average daily aircraft movement reached 1.133 aircraft movements/day, increased by 23 percent compared to the average aircraft movement in 2021 of 916 aircraft movements/day and the average daily cargo traffic reached 1,302,547 kg/day, increased by 0.5 percent compared to the average daily cargo traffic in 2021 of 1,231,000 kg/day.

“We always urge prospective passengers who are about to travel to consistently comply with health protocols, both at the pre and post-journey phases and comply with applicable flight requirements to control the Covid-19 cases,” Faik Fahmi added.
