High Commitment To K3, Two Airports Of Angkasa Pura Received K3 Award

JAKARTA - Angkasa Pura Airports as an airport management company in all its activities consistently applies the principles of safety, security, service, and compliance (3S 1C) and is also highly committed to occupational safety and health (K3).

Having high commitment, two airports of Angkasa Pura Airports won the K3 award from the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia (RI). The two airports are:

  1. Adi Soemarmo Airport, Solo succeeded in gaining recognition of the Gold Flag Work Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) Certificate from the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia and was the First Airport in Indonesia to successfully receive the Gold Flag SMK3 Certificate with 93.37% achievement for the Advanced Category;
  2. I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Bali was awarded the 2018 Zero Accident Award and the Silver Rank Award for the 2018 workplace HIV and AIDS Prevention and Control Program from the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower.

"The Occupational Health and Safety Management System (SMK3) practiced by Angkasa Pura Airports shows the commitment from the Top Management to comply with Law Number 1 of 1970 concerning Work Safety. This award is a recognition to companies that always prioritize the principlesof safety, security, services, and compliancein their business processes," Director of Operation Angkasa Pura Airports Wendo Asrul Rosesaid.

The purpose of K3 is to provide protection to ensure occupational safety and for the health of workers as well as other people, to secure the company's assets or production resources so that they can be used safely and efficiently in order to enhance productivity and create a safe, healthy, and comfortable workplace environment for employees, customers, partners, business partners and other parties within the company's work environment.

Currently there are four airports of Angkasa Pura Airports that have received the Gold Safety and Health Management (SMK3) Management System certificate with an Advanced Category (166 criteria), namely Adi Soemarmo Solo Airport with a score of 93.37%, Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Airport (SAMS) Sepinggan Balikpapan with a score of 89.15%, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Bali with a score of 89%, and Ahmad Yani Airport with a score of 87.35%. Nine other airports managed by Angkasa Pura Airports  are aimed to obtain the SMK3 certificates by 2018 in addition to setting up the SMK3 and ISO 450001 Angkasa Pura I Headquarters in Kemayoran, Jakarta.

"This award serves also as a trigger to ensure the implementation of SMK3 consistently, not only for the personnel of Angkasa Pura Airports, but also for all stakeholders in the work environment of Angkasa Pura I," Wendo said.

Between 2017 - 2018 Angkasa Pura Airports received several recognitions, including:

  1. Ahmad Yani Airport Semarang received the Gold Flag SMK3 Certificate from the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower and was the First Airport in Indonesia to successfully obtain a SMK3 Gold Flag Certificate with Advanced Category.
  2. Three airports, namely I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Bali, Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Airport Sepinggan Balikpapan, and Adi Soemarmo Solo Airport were awarded two certificates, namely the Gold Flag SMK3 Certificate from the Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Manpower and the OHSAS 18001: 2007 Certificate. These three airports were the first in Indonesia to be awarded the two Certificates at the same time from the National Vocational High School Regulation and International Vocational High School Standards.
