Expanding Business Portfolio, Angkasa Pura Airports Subsidiary Develops an Aerospace Education Tourism Business

Jakarta - Angkasa Pura Airports continues to encourage the expansion of non-aeronautical business to improve the company’s performance, including encouraging subsidiaries to expand the business portfolio.

Angkasa Pura Hotel, a subsidiary of Angkasa Pura Airports engaged in hospitality services, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) on aerospace educational tourism services. The signing of the MoU was carried out by Acting President Director of PT Angkasa Pura Hotel Riko Hendrawan and Production Director of PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) Batara Silaban on Friday, January 21, 2022.

Dirgantara Indonesia as an SOE engaged in the national aerospace industry has an interest in empowering the company facilities by transforming them into aerospace education tourism. Angkasa Pura Hotel responded to the initiation well, as the subsidiary has experience in the management and provision of hospitality services and is currently expanding its business portfolio into other hospitality fields. Based on the interests and qualities of both companies, the collaboration plan can be realized.

“Angkasa Pura Airports, through its subsidiary, continues to expand its business portfolio, not only the airport business, but also business potential in other sectors. Angkasa Pura Hotel as a subsidiary of Angkasa Pura I engaged in the hospitality industry, especially hospitality, also continues to develop its portfolio of hospitality services to other hospitality sectors. The signing of the MoU between Angkasa Pura Hotel and PT Dirgantara Indonesia is expected to be the first step for both parties to develop the creative economy through the establishment of aerospace tourism destinations that eventually can create a new tourism ecosystem and support government programs in revitalizing the tourism sector,” Marketing and Service Director of Angkasa Pura I and President Commissioner of Angkasa Pura Hotel Devy Suradji said.

The scope of the Memorandum of Understanding was the provision and management of tourism supporting transportation facilities; provision and management of supporting facilities in the form of food and beverages, merchandise, tour companions, tour packages, and other tourist facilities; as well as the development of assets used as tourist attraction facilities.

“We hope that the commitments made today can be realized and implemented according to the expected targets and the impact can be felt by the tourism ecosystem and society in general and can help revive the tourism sector,” Acting President Director of PT Angkasa Pura Hotel Riko Hendrawan said.
