Bali I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Added 8 International Flight Routes

Jakarta - Angkasa Pura Airports as the manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali is optimistic that passenger traffic and international route flights will increase in the second quarter of 2022. This is in line with the increase in 8 international flight routes that operate regularly from 5 international airlines at Airport I. Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali on May 1 and 2 2022, namely Indonesia AirAsia, Cebu Pacific, Thai Airways, Emirates and Jetstar Airways. The addition of this route also makes Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport currently serve a total of 17 international routes from 17 airlines.

The details related to flights for the 8 international flight routes, namely:

May 1, 2022

  1. Thai Airways route Bangkok - Denpasar PP landed at 17.40 WITA carrying 236 passengers, according to a regular operating schedule every Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
  2. Emirates route Dubai - Denpasar PP landed at 22.15 WITA carrying 411 passengers, according to a regular operating schedule every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
  3. Indonesia AirAsia Singapore - Denpasar PP route landed at 14:53 WITA carrying 167 passengers, according to a regular operating schedule every day.
  4. Jetstar Airways route Cairns - Denpasar PP landed at 00.16 WITA carrying 150 passengers, according to a regular operating schedule every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

May 2, 2022

  1. Jetstar Airways route Adelaide - Denpasar PP landed at 11.03 WITA carrying 135 passengers, according to the regular operating schedule Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
  2. Cebu Pacific route Manila - Denpasar PP landed at 11.30 WITA carrying 73 passengers, according to a regular operating schedule every Thursday and Sunday.
  3. Jetstar Airways route Brisbane - Denpasar PP landed at 13.09 WITA carrying 315 passengers, according to a regular operating schedule every day.
  4. Jetstar Airways route Darwin - Denpasar PP landed at 12.34 WITA carrying 154 passengers, according to a regular operating schedule every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

"Angkasa Pura Airports welcomes the increasing number of international route flights at Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport from Indonesian airlines AirAsia, Cebu Pacific, Thai Airways, Emirates and Jetstar Airways operating in early May. Angkasa Pura Airports together with all relevant stakeholders are committed to continue to ensure that all operational procedures and international flight services as well as the implementation of health protocols are carried out in accordance with applicable regulations to realize safe, comfortable and healthy flights for all service users," said Angkasa Pura Airports President Director, Faik Fahmi.

Since the return of regular international flight routes at Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport on February 3, 2022, the number of passenger and aircraft movements on international routes has continued to show an increasing trend. In the period 1-30 April 2022, the number of passengers on international routes at I Gusti Ngurah Bali Airport was recorded at 114,537 passengers, an increase of 232 percent when compared to March which served 34,398 passengers. Meanwhile, flight traffic in the April 1-30 period reached 610 aircraft movements, a decrease of 3 percent when compared to March which served 634 aircraft movements.

"Until now, there are at least 10 countries that have been connected to and from Bali, namely Japan, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Qatar, Turkey, Thailand, Vietnam, United Arab Emirates and the Philippines. For most routes, Australia is Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Cairns, Adelaide, Darwin and Brisbane. We are very enthusiastic to see how international route flights at Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport have shown a very positive trend over the last 3 months and hope that the aviation sector and the Balinese economy can slowly start to recover after 2 years affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic," added General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Bali, Herry A.Y Sikado.

For information, in 2019 or before the COVID-19 pandemic, Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport served up to 48 international flight routes from 35 international airlines and served up to 13.8 million passengers on international routes with flight traffic reaching 155,334 aircraft movements.
