JAKARTA – Angkasa Pura Airports is consistently committed to supporting the development of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) as a form of Corporate Social Responsibility.

The Company organized export education and training for 30 fostered partners in Yogyakarta in collaboration with the Indonesian Export Training and Education Center (PPEI) of the Directorate General for National Export Development (DJPEN) of the Ministry of Trade, on September 21-23, 2021 in Yogyakarta.

In addition to improving the skills of fostered MSEs in anticipating various changes in the trade sector in general, the training aimed to make the fostered MSEs understand the potential and market opportunities of regional potential products along with product trends in the export market and product quality standards. Further, the training can expand the network through meetings with other MSEs with diverse backgrounds and experiences, while increasing the positive image of their business.

“Continuing our previous efforts to help develop MSMEs, Angkasa Pura Airports organized export training for the Company’s fostered partners in Yogyakarta. Hopefully, the Company’s efforts and contributions to MSME actors, especially during the pandemic, can help MSME partners to survive during the pandemic and to bounce back when the pandemic is over,” said Vice President Corporate Secretary of Angkasa Pura Airports, Handy Heryudhitiawan.

The Development Coordinator of Export Training and Education from Indonesian Export Training and Education Center (PPEI), Santi Setiastuti said that currently, Indonesia’s total exports were respectable or increased compared to year to year. 80 percent of the pillars of the Indonesian economy are SMEs, but only 4 percent of SMEs become exporters. She hopes that after the training, the participants can export since the export opportunity is growing.

“Our duty from PPEI is to provide training and assistance to business actors. Through the series of training, we will map business actors to  start exporting. In addition to training, the public may access e-learning center on kudagang.kemendag.go.id to learn independently about export activities,” said Santi Setiastuti.

Adhistia Rizky, a PPEI participant and SME owner of Belle First Indonesia, said, “I really welcome the training because I can learn a lot about how to carry out export activities. I can connect with other participants and practitioners with experience in exporting through the networking opportunity. I hope the training activity can continue to be held to help Indonesian SMEs continue to advance.”

The training covers introduction to export business, identification of internal potential, identification of export market potential, SWOT analysis exercises, development or adaptation of export products, exercises in export cost calculation, finding buyers, and discussing export experiences from practitioners. The participants were required to fill out a pre-test at the beginning of the event and were required to fill out a post-test as a material for discussion and evaluation at the end of the series of events. Further, the series of events were carried out with strict health protocols and rapid antigen test at the event site, both for participants and the committee/event organizers.
