SINGAPORE – PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) continues to drive its earnings from the non-aero sector with a target ratio of 40:60 in aero and non-aero earnings by 2017.  In 2013, the non-aero earnings reached 32% or Rp 1.1 trillion while the total earnings of Angkasa Pura was Rp 3.09 trillion, with a contribution from the non- aeronautical sector amounting to Rp 1.1 trillion which had increased from Rp 833 billion in the previous year.

Considering this positive trend, PT Angkasa Pura –as an Indonesian state-owned company-  participated in the Tax Free World Association (TFWA) Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference in Singapore on 11-15 May 2014, in which industrial players in duty free, travel retail business and airport service providers in Asia Pacific region gathered in this forum. In this opportunity, PT Angkasa Pura I -as an exhibitor- offered retailers to open outlets at the airports managed by PT Angkasa Pura. The 5 airports that are offered are: Juanda, Ngurah Rai, Lombok, Makassar, Balikpapan and Sepinggan.

“We were quite popular and much sought, since Rusdi Kirana (the boss of Lion Air) had bought many Boeings and Airbuses. They asked a lot of questions on Indonesia,” said the Corporate Communications Department Head of PT Angkasa Pura I, Handy Heryudhitiawan to merdeka.com, on Sunday (11/5). There were several international brands that were interested in opening retail outlets at the airports managed by PT Angkas Pura I such as Yves Rocher, Lego Group, Herms, Nestle, Philip Morris, P&G, Hugo Boss, Unilever and Versace. “We marketed our airports,” he explained.

Handy admitted, PT Angkasa Pura I joined this TFWA exhibition for the first time. The budget for this exhibition was Rp 2 billion in order to reach out the world class retailers. “We are opening the opportunity, because the growth of the aviation sector and economy in Indonesia is quite promising ,” he added. PT Angkasa Pura I expects that after joining this TFWA, the retailers can establish a collaboration with them immediately. [Diani Sekaring Sejati/Source: Merdeka.com]
