Bandara Sepinggan Adakan Simulasi Penjinakan Bom

Balikpapan - Angkasa Pura Airports Sepinggan International Airport Branch Balikpapan held an anti-bomb simulation, Thursday (12/6). This event was held to anticipate emergency situation at the airport.

General Manager of Angkasa Pura Airports Sepinggan Balikpapan Branch Wendo Asrul Rose explained that this drill was done to make sure Sepinggan Airport is ready for emergency situation, by testing the officers’ skill in the airports’ inter-unit coordination and related institutions. "We have informed the customers, thus the simulation went smoothly," he said after the simulation.

The simulation has been arranged, started with a phone call by a stranger saying that he had planted a bomb in the terminal. The mysterious man also mentioned that the bomb would be blown at 10.30 WITA.

The information was then being forwarded to related parties. Next, a sweeping was done by the Aviation Security (Avsec) of Angkasa Pura I, The Airforce and the airport’s police force. The object that was being suspected as the bomb was found and evacuated by the Gegana Regiment. The bomb then being put in the disposal area.
The simulation was joined by Airport Security Committee (ASC), the airport’s Aviation Security, PKP-PK Sepinggan Airport, The Airforce, Balikpapan Police force, the airport’s Police force, Balikpapan Transportation Agency, Gegana Regiment of East Kalimantan Police Force, Balikpapan SAR team and Balikpapan Health Office.
