BADUNG --International Airport Ngurah Rai Bali obtain certificates System Environmental Management (EMS) ISO 14001: 2004 / SNI 19-14001-2005 for Management Airport Services of PT Superintending Company of Indonesia (Sucofindo), December 7, 2015 last. Thus I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Bali is the only airport in Indonesia who have obtained the certificate.

"ISO 14001: 2004 is an international standard relating to the management environment to minimize the negative effects of operational activities on the environment which includes air, water, sound / noise, or soil," says Operations Director Angkasa Pura Airports Wendo Asrul Rose in a ceremony of delivery of the certificate ISO 14001: 2004 Inna Grand Bali Kuta, Badung (18/12).

ISO 14000 issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and start introduced in the early 1990s. The ISO 14001 standard includes components and processes management system goes against the environmental aspects of its activities, products or services an organization.

According Wendo, the purpose of the implementation of ISO 14001 environmental management system is as an international standard that supports environmental protection and prevention pollution in balance with socio-economic activities. Elements of ISO 14001: 2004 consists of the 17 elements that are interrelated to one another so as to form a system solid environmental management.

"The formation of the Safety, Health and Environment Group at Angkasa Pura Airports since its inception 2013 is the first step of this company in the application of sound airport
environment (eco-airport). This unit is responsible for environmental management regional airports managed by Angkasa Pura Airports. However, because it has not it has a system that helps plan the implementation of eco-airport, it is necessary planned a system or to address environmental management standards, such as Environmental Management System ISO 14001," says Safety, Health & Environment Group Head Angkasa Pura Airports Andiko Surya Wijaya.

By obtaining the certificate ISO 14001: 2004 proves that the service I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali has implemented the required clauses in ISO 14001: 2004.

"This achievement is hoped to further increase awareness of all activities of operational and non-operational at the airport that could potentially provide the negative impact on the environment. After I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Bali following Juanda Airport in Surabaya and Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan Balikpapan, which will be filed in order to obtain ISO 14001," added Andiko.
