Around 35,010 Hajj Pilgrims Arrive In Indonesia

JAKARTA - A total of 35,010 Hajj pilgrims from 85 flight groups arrived in Indonesia through six airports managed by Angkasa Pura Airports during the Hajj disembarkation period from Aug. 28 to Sep. 6.

The Hajj pilgrims arrived at Juanda Airport, Surabaya; Sultan Hasanuddin Airport, Makassar; SAMS Sepinggan Airport, Balikpapan; Adi Soemarmo Airport, Surakarta; Lombok International Airport, Lombok; and Syamsudin Noor Airport, Banjarmasin.

As of Sep. 6, 13,903 Hajj pilgrims from 31 flight groups have arrived at Juanda Airport while 10,760 pilgrims from 30 flight groups arrived at Adi Soemarmo Airport.

A total of 6,341 Hajj pilgrims from 14 flight groups have arrived at Sultan Hasanuddin Airport, 2,719 pilgrims from six flight groups have landed at Lombok International Airport and 1,287 pilgrims from six flight groups have safely reached Syamsudin Noor Airport.

Meanwhile, 454 Hajj pilgrims from one flight group have arrived at SAMS Sepinggan airport.

“The Hajj disembarkation process from Aug. 28 to Sep. 6 had run smoothly and safely. We coordinated with all stakeholders to ensure the disembarkation process could be conducted well,” President Director of Angkasa Pura Airports, Faik Fahmi, said.

The Hajj disembarkation will be conducted until Sep. 26. Juanda Airport and Adi Soemarmo airport are set to accommodate 83 flight groups and 95 flight groups, respectively.

Sultan Hasunuddin Airport will accommodate 35 flight groups, SAMS Sepinggan Airport 13 flight groups, Syamsuddin Noor Airport 17 flight groups and Lombok International Airport 10 flight groups.

“We welcome Hajj pilgrims who have arrived in Indonesia. We hope that you can be mabrur (show manners that please Allah) and meet your family in a fit condition,” Faik said.
