 SLEMAN – Prior to the construction of the new airport in Kulon Progo, the management of Angkasa Pura Aiports branch of Adisutjipto Airport  are committed to provide skills training and recruit local people that are affected by the airport construction.

This was conveyed by the General Manager (GM) of the Angkasa Pura Aiports branch Adisutjipto Airport Andy G Wirson, in the charity event for the small-scale entrepreneurs, on Thursday (24/04/2014).

“This year we will provide aid to the local people who are affected by the airport construction. The aid would be in the form of skill training and employee recruitment. However, of course, they will have to meet the standards of AP,” he said.

The assistance funds will be allocated from the head office, which then will be channeled to the Angkasa Pura Airports branch Adisutjipto Airport to manage the funds.

At the same time, the Financial Manager of Angkasa Pura Airports branch Adisutjipto Airport Herdiyanto, stated, that the program will start in the middle of this month. “Yes, it will be run in the middle of this month, yet we will also choose those who are serious in joining this program,” he said.

The various training programs that will be offered are: mechanic training, security, and many more.

Herdiyanto said, the training programs are a requisite from the state owned-enterprise BUMN, to enhance the welfare of the local people. In addition, these programs are also in line with the preparation of the airport, as once the airport is in operation , the employees are recruited from the local people.
