Angkasa Pura Airports Records 16,7% Increase in Passenger Traffic in November 2021

JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura Airports signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Kimia Farma Tbk. related to the collaboration plan for space utilization at all airports under the management of Angkasa Pura I. The signing of the MoU held on Tuesday (14/12) afternoon was the first step from both parties in the efforts to improve pharmaceutical and health services at all airports under the management of Angkasa Pura Airports.

Located at the Head Office of Angkasa Pura Airports, the signing of the MoU was carried out by AP I’s President Director Faik Fahmi and the President Director of PT Kimia Farma Tbk. Verdi Budidarmo.

Faik Fahmi stated that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding is a form of commitment to improving services to service users. “As one of our commitments to passengers and air transport service users to provide the best service, we will add health services at the airport with the collaboration breakthrough to be carried out by Angkasa Pura Airports and Kimia Farma,” he said.

“The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for collaboration for space utilization will be used as a service for pharmaceutical and other health activities. The collaboration, which is an SOE synergy, will not only strengthen the partnership between Angkasa Pura Airportsand Kimia Farma, but also provide added value and promote quality improvement of passenger services at AP I’s airports,” Faik Fahmi continued.

The scope of this Memorandum of Understanding is related to the plan to utilize space for pharmaceutical activities and other health services at all airports under the management of Angkasa Pura Airportsto be managed by Kimia Farma’s subsidiary, Kimia Farma Apotek.

“The global Covid-19 pandemic has caused changes in the daily routine, including in transportation, especially air transportation. There have been several adjustments to flight requirements, mainly by equipping passengers with health documents. Our airport, serving thousands of passengers every day, is required to provide complete health facilities to accommodate the passengers’ needs in obtaining health and pharmaceutical services. For this reason, we welcome the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with Kimia Farma. This is in line with our commitment to always provide excellent service to passengers and airport service users ,” Faik Fahmi said.

In the Memorandum of Understanding, it was agreed that 5 airports will serve as pilot projects for the collaboration, namely:

  1. I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport - Bali (DPS);
  2. Juanda Airport - Surabaya (SUB);
  3. Sultan Hasanuddin Airport - Makassar (UPG);
  4. Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan Airport - Balikpapan (BPN);
  5. Yogyakarta International Airport - Kulon Progo (YIA)

“In this early phase, we are exploring the potential collaboration in five airports as a pilot project, with a total area of agreed facilities of approximately 538 square meters. Hopefully, Kimia Farma Apotek services will be present at other airports in the future, especially during the pandemic where people desperately need health services that can be accessed anytime and anywhere,” Faik Fahmi concluded .
