Angkasa Pura Airports Ready To Welcome The Surge Of Passengers Christmas And New Year

Jakarta, December 15, 2016- Welcoming the Christmas Holiday 2016 and New Year’s 2017, PT Angkasa Pura Airports (Ltd) was ready to welcome the surge of passengers that will surely occur. Various preparations were made, both aspects of the readiness of facilities and services. Angkasa Pura Airports also opened a post Air Transport for Christmas 2016 and New Year 2017 in each of the airports it manages. The post operated 22 days since H-7 until New Year H+7, or December 18 until January 8, 2017.

“We are ready to anticipate the surge of passenger which is always happening in the Christmas and New Year time (Nataru). Welcoming the peak season of Nataru this time, our intensive coordination with all relevant parties to ensure that operations at 13 airports of Angkasa Pura Airports can run smoothly,” said the Chief Director of Angkasa Pura Airports Danang S. Baskoro, on Thursday (12/15/2016).

Nataru post will operate according to the operating hours of the airport.In addition to involving the internal elements of Angkasa Pura Airports, Air Force Integrated Nataru post also involves an external element of the Airport Authority office, military/police, port health office, the Airline and ground handling. “We were also provided CCTV network which was connected with the monitoring post in the centre office of Angkasa Pura Airports in Jakarta. Besides that, also prepared a contact person from each airport that can be reached during post operation in progress,” added Danang.

To anticipate the long queues at the terminal, Angkasa Pura Airports specifically requested Airline to keep the ground time performance so that no flights were delayed. “To anticipate the increasing number of passengers and remind the frequency of flights at several airports which certainly solid enough, for example in I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali International Airport, we suggested for all the Airlines change the airplane with an airplane with wide body,”said Danang.

The increase in passenger and aircraft movements during the Christmas holidays in 2016 and 2017 was compared to the period before, it caused by the addition several new services at some airports.”This time, the peak Christmas season was expected to occur on Friday-Saturday, 23-24 December 2016, while the New Year peak season would take place on the Sunday-Tuesday, 1-3 January 2017.
