JAKARTA - Angkasa Pura Airports President Director Faik Fahmi won the "The Best Industry Marketing Champion 2019 for the Infrastructure and Utilities Sector" at the Industry Marketing Champion and Marketeer of the Year (MOTY) Award organized by MarkPlus Magazine in collaboration with Indonesia Marketing Association (IMA).
The award was given to Faik at the 2019 MarkPlus Conference held at the Ritz Carlton Pacific Place Ballroom in Jakarta, Wednesday (4/12).
"I present this award to all Angkasa Pura Airports employees who have supported management programs in building and marketing, not only airports, but also regional destinations around the airports managed by Angkasa Pura Airports," Faik said.
At present, Angkasa Pura Airports is building and developing several airports, both new airport, such as Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) in Kulon Progo, and existing airports such as Syamsudin Noor International Airport in Banjarmasin, General Ahmad Yani International Airport in Semarang, Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Makassar, and others.
The development of the airports need to be supported by marketing, both for the airline market and for retail brand holders who have the potential to become airport business partners as tenants. At present, Angkasa Pura Airports is actively marketing airports which are under development such as YIA that is currently being offered to potential partners such as airlines, especially in the Asia Pacific, Middle East and European regions. The efforts to approach airlines are carried out actively by conducting a visit and providing information to the airlines’ decision makers at their headquarters; actively presenting YIA in international airline forums in order to attract their interest to open new routes or increase the number of frequencies of existing routes.
In addition to airline partners, currently Angkasa Pura Airports is also conducting a selection of tenant business partners for Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) and Syamsudin Noor International Airport in Banjarmasin.
The Industry Marketing Champion and Marketer of the Year (MOTY) Award 2019 is an event for marketing figures in the industry who have set an example and at the same time had an impact on business and social growth. The panel of judge at the 2019 MOTY are the winners of the MOTY Awards in previous years such as Dahlan Iskan, Arief Yahya and Ahmad Bambang.
