Angkasa Pura Airports Prepares International Terminal for Domestic Flight Passengers Check in After Fire Incident

JAKARTA – Angkasa Pura Airports has prepared an operational plan for domestic flight passengers who want to check in through International Departure Terminal of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali. The decision was taken following small fire in the domestic terminal area at 4.50 p.m. local time.

 "Responding quickly, PKP-PK (Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting) and Avsec Airport officers have extinguished the fire at 5.20 p.m. local time and evacuated passengers to a safe place," said I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport general manager Haruman Sulaksono.

 As for the cause of the fire, the airport management is currently awaiting the result of further investigation from related parties. The management of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport apologizes for the inconvenience due to the restoration of the area affected by the fire incident.

 Passengers of domestic carrier of Garuda Indonesia, Citilink, Sriwijaya Air, Nam Air, and Lion Air Group can use Counter Check in island E at International Terminal of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport. The passengers will be directed by an officer via the connecting passage that passes through the Novotel Hotel to the boarding gate. In general, the incident does not interfere the operational activities of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.

As the airport manager, Angkasa Pura I has also provided a help desk and snack box for passengers affected by the incident at the Domestic Terminal of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.

19 Flights Affected

There are 19 domestic flights affected by the incident: Lion Air of 4 flights, Garuda Indonesia of 5 flights, NAM Air of 2 flights, Batik Air of 2 flights, Wings Air of 1 flight, Air Asia of 1 flight, Citilink of 3 flights, and Sriwijaya Air of 1 flight.
