Angkasa Pura Airports, POS Indonesia Sign Strategic MOU To Boost Competitiveness of Logistic Business

JAKARTA – Angkasa Pura Airports signed a memorandum of understanding with PT Pos Indonesia (Persero). The deal is a first step in a collaboration to boost the competitiveness of both companies’ cargo and logistics services.

The MoU was signed by AP I President Director Faik Fahmi and Pos Indonesia President Director Faizal Rochmad Djoemadi also witnessed by the President Director of PT Angkasa Pura Logistik, a subsidiary of Angkas Pura I, Danny P. Thaharsyah on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Pos Bloc, Jakarta.

The MoU covers all forms of activities related to initial assessments related to collaboration plans in terms of utilizing the business potentials of each party, such as data exchange, making joint studies, and others. Meanwhile, the types of businesses with the potentials for collaboration between Angkasa Pura Airports and Pos Indonesia include:

  1. Pos Indonesia's last mile delivery service 
  2. Pos Indonesia's middle mile delivery service that can be utilized by Angkasa Pura Airports through a logistics partnership to support the need for transportation of goods by land.
  3. Potential collaboration in the utilization of Pos Indonesia’s logistics warehouse to handle the project logistics needs of Angkasa Pura Airports.
  4. Potential Blocked-Space Air Freight collaboration from Angkasa Pura Airports for cargo transportation belonging to Pos Indonesia.
  5. Angkasa Pura Airports’s port-to-port transportation services using air freighters to serve Pos Indonesia’s transportation of goods.
  6. Cargo and postal security inspection services (Regulated Agent) at AP I’s airports that can be utilized by Pos Indonesia to support air delivery services.
  7. Potential collaboration in transshipment warehouse at Sultan Hasanudin International Airport in Makassar and Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali belonging to Angkasa Pura Airports for the purposes of sorting cargo of Pos Indonesia at the cargo terminal.
  8. Strengthening middle mile integration so that connectivity in eastern Indonesia is optimal and more efficient to further enhance national logistics resilience.

“The cargo and logistics business, especially air cargo at Angkasa Pura I, is a business that has received minimal impact from the pandemic. This is evident in cargo traffic in Angkasa Pura I airports in 2020, which actually rose compared to 2019; from around 427,000 kg in 2019 to around 436,000,000 kg in 2020. To further increase the capacity of the cargo and logistics business encouraged by Angkasa Pura Logistik as a subsidiary, AP I is exploring plans for more collaborationns with Pos Indonesia as the country’s main shipping and cargo business actor. This collaboration aims to optimize the resources of each party, including strengthening the role of each party’s subsidiaries, so that together we can support logistics resilience in Indonesia by making efficiency in terms of costs so as to increase competitiveness,” AP I President Director, Faik Fahmi said.

“I appreciate this collaboration because it supports Pos Indonesia’s 7 Transformation Program, in particular the transformation of the courier and logistics business as Pos Indonesia’s main business portfolio through business process efficiency efforts. Thus, we will be able to boost competitiveness in the market and strengthen national logistics resilience,” President Director of PT Pos Indonesia (Persero), Faizal Rochmad Djoemadi said.
