Jakarta - Grha Angkasa Pura I blanketed by smog on Tuesday morning (12/12). Smog is seen at 08.50 WIB in the morning from the 2nd floor of pantry room. Employees who see signs of the fire directly yelled "Fire!" and inform the security. Security team immediately inform the Chairman of the State Emergency Response Team and stoking the fire alarm.

Addressing an emergency, the communications team immediately gave a eventful fire announcement to all employees. Teams of firefighters immediately headed to the point of fire, evacuation teams (floor warden) guides employees to go to muster point. While outside the building, a first aid team is ready to help the victims.

The incident is a practice Emergency Response Exercise (Emergency Relief) conducted at the headquarters of Angkasa Pura Airports. This activity was followed by all employees at Headquarters and involves the Fire Service of Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. "These activities are intended to train emergency response situations in case something happen in the building, such as a fire" said by Andiko Surya Widjaya, Safety Health and Environment Group Head Angkasa Pura Airports. Andiko adding that safety is not the responsibility of one Department only, but the responsibility of all employees of the company.

Emergency response exercise followed by a fire-fighting exercise led by the Fire Service. Also present in the exercises are Tommy Soetomo, President Director and Polana B. Pramesti, Technical Director of Angkasa Pura Airports. [DSS]
