Back to ListJakarta, March 26, 2022 - PT Angkasa Pura Airports was ready to implement the latest travel regulations in accordance with the issuance of the Transportation Ministerial Circular No. 33/2022 on Guidelines for the Implementation of International Travel by Air Transportation during the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Pandemic that took effect on March 24, 2022.
The Transportation Ministerial Circular No. 33/2022 stated that overseas travelers (PPLN) traveling by air must comply with the following provisions:
The Circular determined 4 airports under the management of Angkasa Pura Airports to be entry points for overseas travelers, namely I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali, Juanda Airport in Surabaya, Sam Ratulangi Airport in Manado and Lombok International Airport.
“Angkasa Pura Airports together with all relevant stakeholders at the airport will coordinate intensively to ensure that all operational processes, including inspection of travel documents, health checks, availability of vaccines and the implementation of health protocols for overseas travelers at the 4 airports run in accordance with applicable regulations,” AP I’s President Director, Faik Fahmi said.
For information, total international passenger traffic at the 4 entry points under the management of Angkasa Pura Airports from January 1 to March 24, 2022 was 24,563 passengers with international flight traffic reaching 847 aircraft movements. I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali had the highest number of passenger traffic and international flights for that period by serving 19,561 passengers and 251 aircraft movements. Meanwhile, Sam Ratulangi Airport in Manado occupied the second position by serving 2,782 passengers and 97 aircraft movements and Juanda Airport in Surabaya served 1,718 passengers with flight traffic reaching 187 aircraft movements.
“We are optimistic that this policy will be able to gradually increase flight traffic and passengers on international routes at the managed airports, especially in Bali, Surabaya, Manado and Lombok to bring a multiplier effect for economic recovery and the tourism industry in a sustainable manner,” Faik Fahmi added.
