Angkasa Pura Airports Has Served 89.7 Million Passengers in 2017

JAKARTA - Angkasa Pura Airports throughout 2017 has served 89.7 million passengers or increased 5.9% compared to the previous year which reached 84.7 million passengers in 13 managed airports. The number consisted of 69.8 million increase in domestic passengers or 4.7% grew by 66.7 million passengers last year, 14.4 million international passengers or grew 11% over the previous year by 13 million passengers and 5.4 million passenger transit or grew 8.6% compared to the previous year of 4.7 million passengers.

"The highest passenger traffic during 2017 is at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport serving 21.05 million passengers arriving and departing or up 5.3% if compared to the same period of the previous year which reached 20.01 million passengers. Meanwhile Adi Soemarmo Solo Airport is the highest for passenger growth which reaches 27.2% or has served 2.78 million passengers compared to the same period in the previous year which reached 2.18 million passengers came and departed,"said by the Director of Angkasa Pura Airport, Faik Fahmi.

In addition to the increasing number of passengers, throughout 2017 the movement of aircraft also experienced growth. Angkasa Pura Airport recorded 791.49 thousand aircraft movements during the year 2017 or increased 3.5% when compared to the previous year which reached 764.53 thousand aircraft movement. The number includes 647 thousand domestic aircraft movements, 89 thousand international aircraft movement and 55 thousand local aircraft movement. The highest traffic movement of the aircraft is located at Juanda Airport Surabaya which serves 148.73 thousand aircraft movement or increased 0.09% compared to the previous year which reached 148.59 thousand aircraft movement. Meanwhile, the airport of Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar became Angkasa Pura Airport's airport with the highest plane movement growth up to 13.2% or reaching 113.91 thousand aircraft movements when compared to the previous year which reached 100.63 thousand movements of aircraft both domestic, international and local.

Meanwhile, Cargo traffic increased by 11.4% by 403 million kg compared to 362 million kg in the same period of the previous year. The total includes 334 million Kg of domestic cargo and 69 million Kg of international cargo. The highest traffic targets are located at Juanda Airport Surabaya which serves 97.65 million Kg or grows 1.4% if compared to the previous year amounted to 96.28 million Kg. The highest cargo growth was at Airport I Gusti Ngurah Rai which reached 37.8% or reached 71.06 million Kg compared to the previous year of 51.56 million kg.
