JAKARTA - Angkasa Pura Airports during Christmas and New Year 2018 served 6,012,106 passengers in 13 airports managed or grew by 6.37% compared to the same period in the previous year which reached 5,652,054 passengers. The number of domestic passengers reached 5,196,702 passengers or an increase of 7.13% compared to the previous year which reached 4,850,878 passengers. While the total international passengers reached 815,404 passengers or an increase of 1.78% when compared to the previous year which reached 801,176 passengers.
The growth in passenger numbers was also followed by growth in aircraft movements during Christmas and New Year 2018. Carrying 47,578 domestic and international aircraft movements in 13 airports managed by Angkasa Pura Airports or an increase of 9.07% when compared to the same period of the previous year which reached 43,621 movements aircraft. The highest movement of aircraft occurred at Juanda International Airport which reached 9,958 aircraft movement or an increase of 16.06% compared to the previous year which reached 8,580 aircraft movement. While Frans Kaisiepo Airport experienced the highest growth of aircraft movement of 27.03% or 437 aircraft movement when compared to the same period in the previous year which reached 344 aircraft movement.
"The highest domestic & international passenger movement occurred at Juanda International Airport Surabaya serving 1,406,640 passengers or an increase of 11.55% compared to the previous year of 1,135,490 passengers. Frans Kaisiepo International Airport, Biak experienced the highest passenger growth during Christmas and New Year 2017 which reached 22.99% or 30,083 passengers when compared to the same period in the previous year which reached 24,459 passengers,"said by Faik Fahmi as Angkasa Pura Airports President Director.
