Angkasa Pura Airports Grant 531 Million IDR Worth Of Aid For NTB Earthquake Victims

MATARAM - To help alleviate the burden of the earthquake victims in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Angkasa Pura Airports provided logistical aid as well as basic needs worth 396,015,000, - IDR through the NTB Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Jl Dr Soejono, South Circle, Mataram. The aid was handed over by the Operations Director of Angkasa Pura Airports, Wendo Asrul Rose consisting of equipment to support the daily needs for the earthquake victims at the BPBD NTB Office, Mataram, Friday (10/8) morning.

The logistical aid provided to victims of the NTB Earthquake included 1,000 sarongs, 2,400 blankets, 1,000 mukena (female praying gown), 1,000 pairs of flip flop sandals, 1,000 bottles of eucalyptus oil, 1,000 bottles of mosquito repellent, and 5 platoon tents.

Previously on August 3, 2018, Angkasa Pura I channeled basic necessities to the people affected by the earthquake disaster in Sugian Village and Sembalun Village, East Lombok. The aid consisted of rice, instant noodles, biscuits, mineral water and foam mattresses worth  50,000,000 IDR. On August 7, 2018 emergency response aid was also provided to the service users and tourists at Lombok Praya International Airport worth 10,750,000, IDR of logistics such as food & drinks, blankets, and beddings. On August 14, 2018, Angkasa Pura I through Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport will also provide CSR aid worth 75,000,000, - IDR to help NTB earthquake victims.

"The earthquake that recently occurred in Lombok region has caused casualties and damaged the people's homes. "These CSR activities that we have carried out are one of our concerns for the residents and the tourists affected by the earthquake in NTB Province," said by Operations Director of Angkasa Pura Airports, Wendo Asrul Rose.

In addition to providing direct aid to victims and tourists affected by the earthquake in NTB worth 531,765,000 IDR, Angkasa Pura Airports from Monday (6/8) to Thursday (9/8) operated the Lombok Praya International Airport for 24 hours nonstop to facilitate access assistance to Lombok and the surrounding areas. Until Wednesday (8/8) Lombok Praya International Airport served five additional flights (extra flights) to address the accumulation of outbound tourists and to smoothen the flow of people and goods after the earthquake.

On Tuesday (7/8), 14,902 passengers was recordedat Lombok Praya International Airport consisting of 14,009 domestic passengers and 893 international passengers. The total number of passenger movements on Tuesday (7/8) was up 15.4% compared to the total movement of passengers on Monday (6/8) which was 12,909 people. While the number of aircraft movements on Tuesday (7/8) was 181 aircraft movements.

"We hope that all our efforts can provide direct benefits to the earthquake victims in Lombok and can facilitate the distribution of humanitarian aid coming through Lombok Praya International Airport that we manage," Wendo added. [AD]
