Angkasa Pura Airports Gives Presents To Passengers, Cabin Crew In The New Year

JAKARTA – Airports managed by Angkasa Pura Airports welcomed new year in a unique way. One of them is giving present and surprise to passengers and cabin crew and pampering service users with various entertainment at the airport.

The gift was given to passengers and crew on the last flight in 2019 and the first flight in 2020 at the airports managed by Angkasa Pura Airports.

At Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan International Airport in Balikpapan, for example, Lion Air JT 858 passengers heading to Palu at 10.50 p.m. local time were given gifts. Also, the first passengers in 2020 who fled with Lion Air JT 673 from Tarakan which arrived at 06.50 a.m. local time and from Palu with JT 859 which landed at 07.00 a.m.

At I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali, Qatar Airways QR961 was the last flight to leave Bali for Doha at the end of 2019. That particular moment was marked by dispatching passengers by Angkasa Pura Airports Director of Marketing and Services Devy Suradji and I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport General Manager Herry AY Sikado by giving scarves and souvenirs.

At the General Ahmad Yani International Airport in Semarang, the garland of flowers was given to the cabin crew and passengers who landed first in 2020, which is Garuda Indonesia GA 230 from Jakarta at 06.38 a.m. local time as well as the crew and passengers on the international route from Kuala Lumpur who fled with AirAsia AK 328 at 08.30 a.m. local time.

Apart from that, airport service users were provided by various entertainments such as keroncong (folk music) at General Ahmad Yani International Airport, dance parades and national costume performances at Surabaya's Juanda International Airport, traditional dance performance at SAMS Sepinggan International Airport, and others.

"Appreciation and entertainment to passengers during the new year aims to create a pleasant customer experience that has positive impact on customer engagement. This is a form of Angkasa Pura Airports' commitment on service," said Angkasa Pura Airports president director Faik Fahmi.

Sitti Fatimah, one of the passengers heading to Palu from the SAMS Sepinggan International Airport, expressed her happiness when receiving a present, "I did not expect a balloon goes down with the gift. Alhamdulillah [Thank God], I got a gift from Angkasa Pura Airports. Hopefully it will be better in the future and the cleanliness of SAMS Sepinggan Airport continue to be maintained.”

Meanwhile, David, one of the passengers who arrived first in Bali in 2020, said he was happy with the surprise. "Wow! This is the first time I become one of the first passengers in the new year. The surprise is also quite unique, Balinese flowers and souvenirs," he said with a smile.

First Day of Sentani International Airport Managed by Angkasa Pura Airports

January 1, 2019 is the first day for Angkasa Pura I managing Sentani International Airport in Jayapura. In general, the operation in the first day runs smoothly with the airport operations start at 05.00 a.m. until 08.00 p.m. local time.
