Angkasa Pura Airports, Garuda Indonesia, Indonesia Re And Indonesia Kliring Berjangka To Hold The 73rd RI Independence Day Ceremony In Kulon Progo

JAKARTA - Angkasa Pura Airports with PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, PT Reasuransi Indonesia Utama (Persero) or Indonesia RE and PT Indonesian Kliring Berjangka or KBI will hold the Flag Ceremony in commemorating the 73rd Indonesian Independence Day at the Village Hall of Palihan, Kulon Progo Regency, DI Yogyakartaon August 17, 2018. The commemoration will involve representatives from the Kulon Progo Regency Government, representatives from all SOEs in the D.I Yogyakarta Province, the participants of the training program for students Understanding the Indonesian Archipelago from Central Kalimantan Province, as well as representatives from 5 villages in Kulon Progo namely Palihan, Glagah, Panjatan, Jangkaran and Kebonrejo Villages. The ceremony was held near the Construction of Yogyakarta International AirportNational which is one of the Strategic Projects (PSN) and part of the series under the Program of “BUMNs (SOEs) are here for the Country” initiated by the Ministry of BUMN.

"In implementing this initiative, this year Angkasa Pura Airports was appointed as the Coordinating SOE / PIC for the Yogyakarta Special Region Province together with Garuda Indonesia, Indonesia Re and KBI as BUMN Co. PIC. The tagline “BUMNs are here for the Country” program is our commitment as an SOE to enhance the welfare of the people and strengthen the national pride, to all communities in the country, "said Director of Angkasa Pura Airports, Faik Fahmi.

Angkasa Pura Airports with Garuda Indonesia, Indonesia Re and KBI will also take part to brighten upthe atmosphere of the 73rd Indonesian Independence Anniversary with various entertainment & competitions for the community. Several competitions will be held, such as, climbing up the areca tree (Panjat Pinang) for adults and children, clog racing for adults and mothers, sarong racing, tire rolling, biting watermelon coins, tug of war, and cracker eating competitions. "For the areca climbing, there are were prizes to be won including 1 cow, motorcycle, bicycle and various other interesting prizes to enliven the 73rd Indonesian Anniversary with the people in Kulon Progo," Faik Fahmi added.

As part of our social responsibility program to the community in Kulon Progo, Angkasa Pura Airports with Garuda Indonesia, Indonesia Re and KBI will also provide assistance to fulfill the community needs such as installing electricity power & sanitary facilities, providing clean water facilities, repairing facilities and infrastructure in two elementary schools, awarding scholarships and set up Libraries at people’s homes.

On August 18, 2018, Pasar Murah (Flee Market) will also be held at several points in the village in Kulonprogo Regency. In this activity, people will be able to buy nine-basic necessities worth 100.000IDR at a price of25,000 IDR for under privileged citizens. All the proceeds from the sale of food packages will be donated to the build worship places in the surrounding area.

As the climax of the program for the SOEs being present for the Country in D.I Province of Yogyakarta, Angkasa Pura Airports, Garuda Indonesia, Indonesia RE and KBI will hold a Morning Healthy Walk Program starting at the Zero Point of the North Alu-Alun Yogyakarta City by involving 3,500 participants on August 19, 2018. This activity will also be filled with BUMN UMKM (SME) exhibitions from the SME partners, free culinary, blood donation and free health checks, breaking the MURI record by eating the typical Kulonprogo geblek, millions of rupiah worth of door prizes, and entertainment stages with special guest performances.

"Through various series of activities of the SOEs being Present for the Country in D.I Province, whope that Yogyakarta can enhance the people’s understanding of the role of BUMN as an agent of development and play an active role in improving the welfare of the nation through real work that has a direct impact,"explained Faik.
