Angkasa Pura Airports And Kulon Progo District Government Provides The Community Empowerment Center (BPM) In Kulon Progo

KULON PROGO - Angkasa Pura Airports with Kulon Progo District Government inaugurated the Community Empowerment Center (BPM) for the affected residents of Yogyakarta International Airport. The inauguration of BPM was carried out in conjunction with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Angkasa Pura Airports, Kulon Progo Regency, and the Indonesian Ministry of Social of Education, Training, Research and Extension (Badiklit Pensos) on Education, Training, Research & Extension and Community Empowerment for Impacted Residents of Yogyakarta International Airport Development in Kulon Progo Regency. The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding was carried out by the Managing Director of Angkasa Pura Airports Faik Fahmi with the Regent of Kulon Progo Hasto Wardoyo in Kulon Progo on Monday (16/7) afternoon.

"The inauguration of the Center for Community Empowerment (BPM) is one of the responsibilities of Angkasa Pura Airports to the people affected by the development of Yogyakarta International Airport. This presence of BPM is expected to improve the soft skills, hard skills, and competence for the citizens in accordance with predetermined standards," said by Faik Fahmi, Managing Director of Angkasa Pura Airports.

Some training programs provided to the residents are tourism development programs and airport construction support programs. Tourism development programs include English language training. While the airport construction support program in the form of carpentry training of stone and wood, welding training, and cooling techniques. The BPM building, located right next to the Office of the Yogyakarta International Airport Development Project in Kulon Progo, has two classrooms for teaching and learning activities with a capacity of 35 people per class.

Previously, Angkasa Pura Airports has also conducted security training for 80 people, some of whom are now getting jobs. In addition, entrepreneurship training was organized for 196 residents from five villages as well as financial planning counseling and counseling.

"Aside from being a commitment and contribution of Angkasa Pura Airports to the development of community expertise in the new airport development area, the Community Empowerment Hall is a vehicle to prepare residents in welcoming Yogyakarta International Airport in Kulon Progo. Because the airport is not only owned by Angkasa Pura Airports or the government, but also must be felt presence and prepared together with the whole community, " added by representative of Yogyakarta International Airport Development Project Agus Pandu Purnama.

"The Government of Kulon Progo Regency appreciates the efforts and contributions that have been given by Angkasa Pura Airports to help prepare Kulon Progo residents in welcoming the new airport. Through the inauguration of BPM and the signing of this MCC is expected to be one of the solutions to increase the competence and skills for the affected citizens to obtain new jobs and reduce unemployment rate in Kulon Progo regency," added by the Regent Kulon Progo Hasto Wardoyo.
