The awards were presented less than a week after three airports managed by Angkasa Pura Airports received the 2017 Airports Service Quality (ASQ) from Airports Council International (ACI) in Halifax- Canada on Sep. 12.

"The award is a proof that we always commit to improving our public service," Angkasa Pura Airports President Director Faik Fahmi said.

Faik thanked the management and all employees of Angkasa Pura Airports who had worked hard to serve passengers.

The improvement of public service in the airports went hand in hand with Angkasa Pura Airport’s commitment to improving passenger safety, he added.

The awards were given after an independent assessment team, formed based on the Minister of Transportation Decree No. 616/2018, monitored 166 public sector units in transportation sector, starting from May to August 2018.

The team consisted of representatives of Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, Ombudsman, Presidential Staff Office, academics, the Indonesian Consumers Foundation (YLKI), transportation experts and journalists.

Based on Transportation Minister Regulation No. 49 on 2018, the team assessed the units based on six categories, namely the customer service policy, professionalism of human resources, public service facilities, information system, consultation and complaints mechanism, innovation and achievements.

Prima Utama Service awards were received by 30 public sector units assessed by the independent team. Meanwhile, Prima Madya Service and Prima Pratama Service were received by 85 and 32 public sector units, respectively.

The remaining 19 bodies were not included on the list of public sector units that had given good public service.
