Pemerintah Dorong BUMN Jadi Agen Pembangunan Infrastruktur

JAKARTA -  Minister of State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Rini Suwandi said the government continues to encourage a number of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to act as agent of development in infrastructure. "We have to start thinking about how to take advantage of state-owned companies to develop the economy, so that it can be used as an SOE agent of development," said Rini at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Thursday (30/10). 

She mentioned a number of large-scale state-owned enterprises, which is considered to be used as an agent of development are Indonesia Train Enterprise (PT KAI), Indonesia Harbour Enterprise (PT Pelindo), Angkasa Pura, and the State Electricity Company (PLN). Red Plate Company is believed to contribute significantly to promote national development. "PT KAI and PT Pelindo, Angkasa Pura, and PLN, so a lot of companies that should be considered for participation encourage economic development," she said. Transportation Minister Ignasius Jonan previously asked KAI to increase train passenger capacity up to three times from 200 million to 600 million people in the next five years.
