SURAKARTA - General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) Adi Soemarmo Branch Office Surakarta, Abdullah Usman mobilized all airport’s employees to directly clean the remaining volcanic ash in the area of terminal and apron of Adi Soemarmo International Airport, on Monday (17/2). This activity was also conducted in the runway and taxiway by the airport community together with Indonesian Air Force Millitary (TNI-AU).

"In accordance with the current Notice of Airmen (NOTAM), Adi Soemarmo Airport shall be re-operated on Wednesday (19/2). Until this time, the cleaning of volcanic ash in the airside area reached 60 percents of all area and hopefully to reach 100 percents so the aviation activities shall be operated in Wednesday morning," Abdullah Usman explain. Meanhwile, the four parked airplanes since Friday morning (14/2) in Adi Soemarmo Airport, they were Kalstar, Garuda Indonesia, Sriwijaya Air and Lion Air has been cleaned from volcanic ash and ready to operate.
