Net Income Angkasa Pura I Grows 23% In 2017

Jakarta, February 2, 2018 - PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) performed very well in 2017 with unaudited net profit of 1.4 trillion IDR, or grew 23% compared to 2016 of 1.1 trillion IDR. In addition, the company managing 13 airports in the central region to eastern Indonesia managed to record operating income of 7.1 trillion IDR, an increase of 17% compared to last year amounted to 6.1 trillion IDR.

Of the operating income, 4.2 trillion IDR came from the aeronautical business which includes landing, placement, and aircraft storage services (PJP4U), air passenger service (PJP2U), aviobridge service, check-in counter and baggage service handling system. The remaining 2.9 trillion IDR came from non-aeronautical businesses which include rent space, concessions, billboards, parking lots, platforms, lounges, event promotion, and more.

"The revenue increase is in line with the growth of passengers, aircraft and cargo, in line with the company's efforts to initiate the Collaborative Destination Development (CDD) tourism development program in collaboration with local governments as well as continuously improve the facilities and quality of airport services," said by President Director of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) Faik Fahmi.

During 2017, PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) recorded an increase in aircraft traffic by 3.5% from 764,531 movements in 2016 to 791,496 movements in 2017. Meanwhile, passenger traffic grew 6% from 84.7 million people in 2016 to 89.7 million people in 2017. Likewise cargo grew 11.4% from 362 million kg in 2016 to 403 million kg by 2017.

"The company has poured investment funds in 2017 amounting to 4.6 trillion IDR consisting of 2.3 trillion IDR for airport development and 2.3 trillion IDR for investment in the field of safety and service," Faik Fahmi said.

Meanwhile, in 2017 the company obtained several international awards such as Juanda Airport Surabaya which won the World's Most Timely Airport Category Great Airport (10-20 million passengers per year) from British Air Travel Analyst Institute OAG, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali Airport which earned the "The 3rd World Best Airport" award in the category of 15-25 million passengers per year at the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards by Airport Council International (ACI), and Sultan Hasanuddin Airport Makassar which was awarded as "The Most Improved Airport in Asia Pacific "at the same event ASQ Awards.

"In addition, the company also succeeded in reducing the number of airports that have lost five airports in 2016 to 3 airports in 2017. The three airports are the number of passengers below 2 million people per year such as El Tari Airport Kupang, Pattimura Ambon Airport , and Frans Kaisiepo Biak Airport,"Faik Fahmi said.

Targetting 8.7 T IDR Revenue in 2018

In 2018, PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) targets 8.7 trillion IDR in revenues, an increase of 16 percent from unaudited revenues of 7.5 trillion IDR. This revenue target is supported by the operation of the new terminal of Ahmad Yani Airport in Semarang in March 2018, the increase of capacity and utilization of airport air side production equipment and the increase of five Angkasa Pura I subsidiaries namely Angkasa Pura Support, Angkasa Pura Logistic, Angkasa Pura Property, Angkasa Pura Hotel, and Angkasa Pura Retail,"added by Faik Fahmi.

"In 2018 we will also focus on improving service quality in 13 airports such as terminal service innovation, smart airport implementation, business process digitization, and acceleration of the development of three airports included in national strategic projects, namely Syamsuddin Noor Airport Banjarmasin, Ahmad Yani Airport Semarang, and New International Airport Yogyakarta. In addition, the company also hopes to immediately manage six airports that have been managed by the Ministry of Transportation (Airport Implementation Unit), namely Komodo Labuan Bajo Airport, Sentani Jayapura Airport, Juwata Tarakan Airport, Syukuran Aminudin Amir Luwuk Airport, Mutiara Sis Al Jufri Palu Airport, and New Samarinda Airport. March 2018, targeted new terminal Ahmad Yani Airport Semarang can start operating.
