MURI Record-breaking Coloring Peak of Activities of SOEs Present for Country Angkasa Pura Airports in Yogyakarta

YOGYAKARTA - The climax of the program of the SOEs being Present for the Country in the Special Province of Yogyakarta (DIY) organized by Angkasa Pura Airports in collaboration with PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, PT Reasuransi Indonesia Utama (Persero), and PT Indonesia Futures Clearing (Persero) in Yogyakarta, was marked by the record-breaking of eating 17,818 piecesof the typical KulonProgo food geblek and recorded by the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) held at the Yogyakarta Palace North Square on Sunday (8/19) morning.

This activity was part of celebrating the 73rd Independence Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in DIY which included activities such as the 5 kilometer healthy walk, UMKM bazaar assisted by BUMN, social services plogging the environment around the palace, free culinary, blood donation and free health checks, as well as public entertainment involving more than 3,500 people.

The launching of the healthy walk participants was led by the Director of Angkasa Pura Airports Faik Fahmi accompanied by Garuda Indonesia Technical Director I Wayan Susena, Director of Development, Risk and Compliance of Indonesia Re Adi Pramana, Indonesian Futures Clearing Director Fajar Wibhiyadi, Yogyakarta Mayor Haryadi Suyuti, and Regional Secretary DIY Province Gatot Saptadi.

The 5K Healthy Walk Participantswere also escorted by the Bregodosoldiers, with a horse procession and horse cart walking long the route around the Yogyakarta square.

"Angkasa Pura Airports synergizing with Garuda Indonesia, Indonesia Re and Indonesian Futures Clearing hold the mandate to organize events under the program of SOEs Present for the Country in DIY Province. This activity is one of the SOE's commitments to improve the welfare of the people and strengthen the national pride and provide clean water for all communities in the country, especially in Yogyakarta,"said Director of Angkasa Pura Airports Faik Fahmi.

Breaking the MURI Record in Mass Eating of 17,818 Geblek

The MURI record breaking of mass eating of 17,818 geblek was intended to promote the typical food of Kulon Progo. "We are proud to be able to break the record of MURI by hold mass eating as many as 17,818 geblek involving more than 3,500 participants in this DIY Province. Through these activities, it is expected to promote the geblek as one of the culinary icons from Kulon Progo at the national and world level, as well as to help to boost the economy and tourism even before the completion of the Kulon Progo Airport," added Faik.

Series of SOEs for Country in DIY Province

In implementing the Program for the 2018 SOEs being Present for country  in DIY, Angkasa Pura Airports in cooperation with Garuda Indonesia, Indonesia Re, and KBI held various activities, including a training program for high school students to better understand the Indonesian Archipelago (SMN), flag-raising ceremonies and entertainment stages for the local people, as well as providing assistance to fulfill the needs of the community. In the SMN activities, 23 outstanding students from SMA / SMK / SLB were selected, 2 exemplary teachers and 2 accompanying teachers of Yogyakarta Special Province students and were sent off to Central Kalimantan Province. Under this program, they were provided with knowledge about SOEs, culture, history, and character building by way of defending the country.

On August 17, 2018, a flag raising ceremony was held at the Palihan Village Hall, Kulon Progo Regency, involving representatives from the Kulon Progo Regency Government, representatives of all state-owned enterprises in DIY Province, and representatives of the five villages affected by the construction of Kulon Progo Airport, namely Palihan Village, Glagah, Panjatan, Jangkaran and Kebonrejo.

After the ceremony, a variety of entertainment and competitions were held with the community as well as providing assistance to fulfill the needs of the community in Kulon Progo Regency, such as providing assistance for installing electricity power for 100 homes and 70 sanitary facilities in 10 villages, assistance in providing clean water facilities in 2 villages for 4 families, repairing facilities and infrastructure in two elementary schools, scholarships for 30 students, and the establishing libraries at homes in Sleman and Kulon Progo Regencies.

Yesterday, the bazaar activities were held simultaneously in 15 villages in the Temon sub-district, Kulon Progo. In this activity a total of 3,500 packages worth IDR 100,000 were sold, consisting of rice, cooking oil, flour and sugar which were sold at a price of IDR 25,000. The proceeds from the sale of food packages amounting IDR 87.5 million was donated for the construction of worship places in Kulon Progo.
