Lebaran 2017 Traffic Passengers At Angkasa Pura Airports Reached 5.18 Million Passengers

JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura I (Ltd) recorded passengers’ traffic during Lebaran (June 15- July 3, 2017) reached 5,185,137 people or grew 5.55% compared to 2016 reached 4,193,547 people. Of that amount, domestic passenger contributions amounted to 4,378,285 persons (84%) and international passengers of 807,652 persons (16%).

Meanwhile, the movement of aircraft traffic during the period of Lebaran 2017 reached 39,334 aircraft or grew 4.35% compared to the year 2016 which reached 37,696 aircraft. While the cargo traffic reached 17,441,542 in 2017 or grew 23.3%, compared to the year 2016 which reached 14,145,562.

“This growth, indirectly, indicates increased public confidence in the air transportation industry and the improved purchasing power of the public and aviation industry in general Angkasa Pura I as airport manager also always keeps the level of service in order to realize service excellence in the middle of the dense flow of back and forth,” said Director of Angkasa Pura Airports Danang S. Baskoro, in Jakarta.

The highest passenger growth occurred at Adi Soemarmo International Airport Solo with the number of passengers of 166,658 people from 122,999 people in 2016 or grew 35.5%. While the highest number of traffic passengers occurred at the International Airport I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali with total traffic reached 1,261,994 people in 2017, up 6.91% from 1,180,409 people in 2016.

Related to the flight time or on Time Performance (OTP) of the airport during Lebaran 2017 period, the total average OTP of 13 airports of Angkasa Pura Airports reaches 60%. The highest OTP was achieved by Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Airport Sepinggan Balikpapan with 81% OTP rate. While the lowest OTP level (40%) occurred at Adisutjipto Airport Yogyakarta considering the dense movement of aircraft and the movement of passengers in this period, reached 445,431 people.

Renewal of Lebaran Transportation Posts from 6 Airports to 11 July.

In accordance with the instructions of the Minister of Communications related to the closure of Lebaran Transportation Posts 2017 on July 3, especially for air and ground transportation, PT Angkasa Pura I (Ltd) closed the Lebaran transportation post at 7 airports and kept Lebaran transport post in 6 busy airports until July 11 upcoming.

“Lebaran Transportation Posts in some Angkasa Pura I airports are closed on Monday night exactly at 24.00 local time, in accordance with the direction of the Ministry of Transportation, but there are 6 airports we keep open the posts until July 11th, whose members only consists of internal Angkasa Pura Airports only,” said Danang. The opening of Lebaran transportation posts in all 6 airports is considering the high potential of reserve traffic during the school holidays.

The 6 airports that remain open the Lebaran transport post are the International Airport of Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar, International Airport I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali, Juanda International Airport Surabaya, Lombok Praya International Airport, Adi Sutjipto International Airport Yogyakarta and Sam Ratulangi International Airport Manado.
