"Of the six village socialization location, acknowledged there had been tension in the Palihan village and in the Glagah village, because of the demonstration some people who deny the existence of the airport. If then appear in the rejection process, it is part of the dynamics. Especially relevant for airport construction projects like this," explained Triyono.

Angkasa Pura Airports as those who need land for airport construction will be run the stages of land acquisition process according in Law No. 2 of 2012 on Land Procurement for Development in the Public Interest. "So socialization is held only as notice of the development plan. People are given the opportunity to submit a statement to agree or disagree, desires, complaints or objections on the stage of public consultation. We hope all citizens who received an invitation can attend the public consultation," Haryanto added.

Construction of a new airport is a necessity to address the needs of an international standard for Yogyakarta airport. Existing condition of Yogyakarta Adi Sutjipto airport designed only to accommodate 1.2 million passengers per year, should serve to 5.7 passengers in the year 2013, while in the air, there are eight parking stand that felt less than optimal in serving the movement of aircraft with 138 flights both domestically and internationally. "For the people of Kulon Progo, the presence of the airport may not be imagined before. Many elder generation of men and women (grandparents) who come to this socialization with great expectations that this airport development plan can be realized. Maybe not for them, but for their grandchildren in the future," said Farid. (Yuristo AH / Arif H)
