Bandara Sepinggan Balikpapan Bagikan 500 Paket Sembako

BALIKPAPAN - Angkasa Pura Airports Sepinggan Balikpapan Airport Branch distributed 500 sembako (nine basic commodities) packs to families in the surrounding area of Ring I Sepinggan Airport. General Manager of Angkasa Pura Airports Sepinggan Balikpapan Airport Branch Wendo Asrul Rose explained that the sembako packs are a part of the company’s social awareness program to their surrounding neighborhoods. 

"This program is routinely done twice a year for families in our neighboring area," he said to reporters while handing over the packages on Monday (21/7/2014). The packages are given to poor families in Kelurahan (district administration office) Sepinggan Raya which its location is directly affected by the airport’s daily operation activities. 

The sembako packs distribution is done based on data from Balikpapan City Government while also considering the company’s ability. Wendi hoped that by receiving these packages, the needy people could have sembako which are usually more expensive during Ramadan. In addition, he also expected that the surrounding residents could participate in securing the area, for a better airport operational safety and convenience. [Diani Sekaring Sejati/Bisnis.com]
