BALIKPAPAN – The Angkasa Pura Airports of Sepinggan Airport branch have installed a thermal scanner in anticipation of the spreading of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Corona Virus (MERS-Cov) virus. The Head of Security Department in Sepinggan Balikpapan Airport said that the thermal scanner was set up as recommended by the Port Health Office (KKP).

The thermal scanner installed at the International Arrival Gate to immediately identify passengers with high temperature. “We have installed the thermal scanner from the beginning, before the outbreak of this virus. There is no report from KKP regarding a suspect passenger until now,” he said to Bisnis, on Monday (12/5). [Diani Sekaring Sejati/Source: Bisnis Indonesia]
