April 2018, Juanda - Surabaya Airport Defeating Changi Airport On Time Performance

JAKARTA– Juanda – Surabaya International Airport, managed by Angkasa Pura Airports, succeeded in achieving the status as the Most On-Time Airport during April 2018 among other Southeast Asian airports with traffic over 1,000 flights for one month, defeating Changi – Singapore International Airport.

The assessment was based on independent research conducted by the UK's leading air travel analyst agency, OAG, through OAG Flightview Monthly OTP Report April 2018.

Juanda – Surabaya International Airport listed itself as the most timely airport in Southeast Asia during April 2018 with an 95.5% On-Time Performance (OTP) rate. The OTP rate of Juanda – Surabaya Airport was higher than the Changi – Singapore Airport with OTP rate of 87.1%.

In addition, in the second position there was a Supadio - Pontianak Airport that reached 90.2% OTP level and the third position was reached by Samui – Thailand Airport with 88.9% OTP rate, fourth position was Siem Reap – Cambodia Airport with 88.2% OTP rate, and fifth position occupied by Praya –Lombok International Airport which was also managed by Angkasa Pura Airports with 88% OTP rate. Based on these results, there were two airports under the management of Angkasa Pura Airports which were included in the top five airports in Southeast Asia with the highest OTP rates.

Altogether, Juanda – Surabaya International Airport got rank on 29th over Top 100 of OTP Airport Global. Previously, in 2017, OAG also named Juanda – Surabaya International Airport as "The World's Most On-Time Airport 2016" with an OTP 90.3% rate through the OAG Punctuality League 2017 Research Report published in January 2017.

In the first quarter of 2018, Juanda International Airport Surabaya has served 4.9 million passenger movements, growing 8.23% over the same period in 2017 which amounted to 4.6 million passengers. While the passengers traffic of Praya –Lombok International Airport in the first quarter of 2018 as much as 870 thousand passenger movement, grew 7.9% over the same period in 2017 which as much as 806 thousand passengers.

As additional information, OAG's OTP rating during April was processed based on OAG Flightview data which recorded flight data for one month to show the best airport on-time performance. OAG is an industry-leading aviation analyst with a flight schedule database owned by more than 900 airlines and 4,000 airports worldwide.
