JAKARTA – Angkasa Pura Airports has won awards in the 2018 Indonesian Appreciation for SOEs held by an economic and business news portal Warta Ekonomi. Angkasa Pura Airports was named “SOE with Best Support for IMF – WB Annual Meeting 2018”, “Popular SOE in Transportation Sector” and “Top 5 Popular SOE in Transportation Sector” for the category of Transportation & Warehousing.

The certificate of merit was handed over by Founder & President Commissioner of Warta Ekonomi Fadel Muhammad and received by Marketing and Service Director of Angkasa Pura Airports Devy Suradji at Balai Kartini in Jakarta on Friday (11/23).

“The award is a recognition of positive performance of Angkasa Pura Airports who has always been committed to improving air connectivity and services to airport users in the country. Besides, it is also an appreciation of our hard work in supporting the 2018 IMF-World Bank Annual Meeting in Bali some time ago,” Devy said.

The 2018 Indonesian Appreciation for SOEs is an event held to appreciate best SOEs, including state-owned subsidiaries and several administration-owned companies (BUMD), in the country which show positive performance with good corporate image.

In contrast to last year, this year event also gives special award to SOEs which contribute foreign exchange to the state as the result of the enterprises’ export and their contribution to help with disaster management.

To obtain the data, media monitoring tools were used to get the name of companies with extensive coverage which indicate that they are popular. The result of the monitoring showed 31,279 news about SOEs (including subsidiary and city owned companies) in 146 Indonesian online media. The number was obtained from publications in January to June 2018 by using keyword with 300 combinations.

The analysis to obtain the winner used qualitative research with criteria: company profit, export growth and downstream activities. Meanwhile, for the disaster management category, desk research was carried out to collect data of the enterprises that conduct disaster response which have been published by mainstream media. For the category, the disaster response was provided for victims of earthquakes and tsunami in Palu and Donggala, Central Sulawesi.
